The "BritCham Scholarship Award" is jointly funded by BritCham Indonesia together with Altilium Group Ltd and Teesside University. Each donor is contributing £7,000 to give a student fully-funded tuition fee, aimed at Indonesian nationals looking to pursue further education in the UK, in particular chemical engineering at Teesside University.

Based in the United Kingdom, Altilium Group Ltd developed their cutting-edge DNi process which contributes to the development of the electric vehicle (EV) industry in Indonesia. This partnership with Teesside University is also supported by the university’s 50-year history of teaching chemical engineering. Additionally, their graduates have gone on to work for companies including SABIC, Johnson Matthey, Sembcorp, GlaxoSmithKline and CF Fertilisers.

Regarding the partnership between Altilium Group and Teesside University BritCham Executive Director, Chris Wren states that “BritCham has brought together two dynamic
organisations, each of which is committed to be at the cutting edge of their respective sectors. This is a ground-breaking relationship led by BritCham and we believe other organisations would wish to replicate this type of partnership, particularly those whose commercial activities are closely aligned with Indonesia’s National development goals.”

Indonesian nationals are highly encouraged to apply for this programme to upscale their employability by equipping the necessary skills to strive in the fast paced and ever-changing technological advancement including EV.
