Top End Wedding

Story By
John Thompson

Directed by Wayne Blair, Top End Wedding is part romantic-comedy, part advertisement for Australia’s Northern-Territory. And that’s in a good way. Amidst the backdrop of NT’s expansive natural beauty, we follow charming couple Lauren (Miranda Tapsell) and Ned (Gwilym Lee), in a story of self-discovery, family, and love. With just ten days to plan a wedding, find Lauren’s mother and rekindle lost loves, Top End Wedding is an exciting — and typically Australian romp.

With it’s small but memorable cast of characters, it manages to balance an aloof humour, bittersweet plot, and character drama all within a tight 113 minutes. The film is a casual, carefree affair, and makes for a great light watch. If you’re looking for humor, romance or just want to appreciate Australia’s natural beauty, don’t miss Top End Wedding.

Top End Wedding will make its Indonesian debut at ‘Festival Sinema Australia Indonesia 2020’ and will headline the event from the 14th of February to the 29th of February. With screenings available in Jakarta, Surabaya, Makassar, Mataram, Bandung and for the first time, Yogyakarta, the event will also feature several prominent films from Australia and Indonesia, including: Emu Runner, Angel of Mine, 2040, Bebas, and a movie produced by Daniel Mananta as the newly appointed FSAI’s Friend, Susi Susanti: Love All.
