Prambanan Jazz Festival 2021 was held with a little more modification to cater to new health protocols yet ultimately delivering the same fiery spirit. The aptly named Prambanan Jazz Virtual Festival 2021 “Live in Prambanan” adopted online elements and could be viewed exclusively on the iKonser Channel 459 SD | 949 HD, UseeTV, UseeTVGO and iKonser Apps between 19 – 20 November 2021.

Featuring 11 artists, namely Bellacoustic, Manjakani, Nadin Amizah, Nita Aartsen & Eurasian Bigband feat. Tompi, and Pamungkas on Friday, 19th November 2021, with Floo, Yura Yunita, Letto, Swingayogya, Ardhito Pramono, Tulus on Saturday, 20th November 2021, and a special guest appearance by Didik Nini Thowok, the Prambanan Jazz Festival 2021 committee worked hard to synchronize the rundown and show hours in order to create a continuous flow as if a real live event was in process.

The event was the first time Prambanan Jazz Festival had combined music with dance and painting, made evident by the involvement of Indonesia’s master dancer Didik Nini Thowok and Wulang Sunu, a Jogja born and raised illustrator who also worked on the main artwork. In addition, Prambanan Jazz Virtual Festival 2021 held a special program called “Borneo Goes to Prambanan Jazz Virtual Festival 2021”, aimed at Kalimantan(Borneo) based promising musicians to show their musical talents to a wider audience. The special program was won by Bellacoustic and Floo, both are from Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan province.
