Mike + The Mechanics
Mike’s strong point has always been his melodic songwriting of adult contemporary pop-rock tunes. Since 1985, Mike + The Mechanics has released seven albums, selling more than 10 million records, launching many hit singles and touring worldwide. This new album comprises three new songs and eight remakes of their great songs including the hits The Living Years and Over My Shoulder. The new versions of these Mike + The Mechanics tunes brings them into the new millennium with great style and fantastic musicianship with a better edge to each song. The new songs One Way, Out of the Blue and What Would You Do are easy listening, good music but not classics. The new version of their early single of
All I need is a Miracle is the most intriguing when it explores a blues gospel sound at end part. The album also marks the 25th anniversary of their huge hit single, The Living Years. Mike Rutherford was a founding member of superband Genesis, and since the 80s has developed his own band Mike + The Mechanics into an equally worlwide-known band. Though Rutherford is the only remaining original member, he retains the bands essence with this newest effort. Also released is a Deluxe version, complete with six acoustic versions of the band’s best songs.
