They say you’re never too old to rock ‘n roll and the legendary metal band Judas Priest delivered a concert in Allianz Ecopark Ancol Jakarta on 7th December 2018 that proved the adage. Jakarta was one of the venues for their final world tour promoting their latest album, Firepower. For the fans, it was superb with these warriors of metal entertaining these patient and true Indonesian metallians.

The band consisted of Rob Halford (vocals), Ian Hill (bass), Scott Travis (drums), Richie Faulkner (guitar), and additional player Andy Sneap (guitar) substituting for original guitarist Glenn Tipton who has contracted Parkinson’s disease. Yet, in true metal fashion, Tipton joined the band for the last three songs. Though only two members of the original line-up continue, the performance was absolutely amazing. For more than an hour of blasting metal music, Judas Priest performed 19 songs from their great rocking music catalogue, such as The Ripper, Painkiller, Desert Plains, Turbo Lover, Metal Gods, Breaking The Law, Grinder, and several songs from their new album Firepower. Of course, the frontman Rob Halford rides a Harley Davidson motorbike onto stage while performing the song Hell Bent For Leather – the band’s signature attraction on every stage they play.

The Jakarta concert is their first time live in Indonesia and the last venue of the band’s exhausting 104-city world tour. Long live the Metal Gods!
