On May 4th, 2018, the Indonesian-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry held its third annual Gala Dinner at the Ballroom of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Jakarta. The evening concluded with a sequence of trophies awarded to Indonesian professionals who trained and studied in France while also promoting French cuisine carefully prepared by chefs Gilles Marx, founder of AMUZ and Chris Salans of Mozaic.
Initiated by the President of the IFCCI, Mr. Philippe Augier, the Ambassador of France to Indonesia, and H.E. Jean-Charles Berthonnet, the event progressed to a showcase of Chef Gilles Marx and Chef Chris Salans dinner courses. Starting with Amuse Bouche, Terrine of Duck Foie Gras, there followed AMUZ Steamed Coral Grouper Fillet by Chef Gilles Marx, Venison ‘Grand Veneur’ by Chris Salans, AMUZ Delices au Chocolat Amer et Framboises by Chef Gilles Marx, and Petits Fours & Chocolates by Chef Raymond Rjaily of the Mandarin Hotel.
The awards session took place as the dinner courses continued with awardees Harry Widianto (Head of Ancient Sangiran Site Conservation Center), Avanti Fontana (University of Indonesia, Innovate We Can!), Refi Kunaefi (Development Project Director Akuo Energy Indonesia), Meiza Azizah (Young Entrepreneur in Fashion Industry) and Vira Talisa (Jazz Singer, Nominee for Best Newcomer Category in Anugerah Musik Award 2017).
Another highlight of the night was a fashion show by Didi Budiardjo, a talented Indonesian who is also a French Alumni from Atelier Fleuri Delaporte, Paris, in collaboration with Rinaldy A. Yunardi, presenting their collections made especially for the event. Indeed a beautiful love letter for both Indonesia and France.
