Marking over 10 years of success, the founder and CEO ARTOTEL Group, Erastus Radjimin, shares his great passion for the industry, success stories along the journey, and future strategies for managing the multi-brand properties. As a hospitality asset operator, ARTOTEL Group has lifestyle pillars covering stay, dine, shop, play, and circle, and continues to grow and expand their multi-brand portfolio, serving their customers and clients in various market segmentations.

Admiration for hospitality and tourism in Indonesia, with its vast and rich cultures and breathtaking destinations, has always been Erry’s prime reason and passion to consistently develop the hospitality business and other opportunities. This, and the fact that hospitality is an industry that creates jobs in many regions, contributing to the local community in terms of development of skills, welfare distribution, and even tax distribution to the country.

Looking towards a post pandemic era, ARTOTEL Group is pursuing a scale up strategy, expanding its portfolio across the archipelago to deliver its values to property owners, customers, partners, and stakeholders. In early 2021, the group formed a strategic alliance with Far East Hospitality Singapore, and mid-2021 announced the acquisition of Kyriad hotels in Indonesia - a hotel brand from Louvre hotel group originally from France and funded by Indies Capital Partners, an alternative asset manager company in Southeast Asia, and Benson Capital, an investor focused on creative industries. Recently, ARTOTEL announced the rebranding of the Vue Palace Hotel Bandung, a four-star hotel strategically located in the city centre.  “We need to cater to our customers and their abundant desires to travel after the long pause due to the pandemic. We are confident to welcome back and serve guests in our multibrand properties across Indonesia and abroad,” said Erry.

He continued, “In terms of business scale strategy, we need to incorporate technology to instantly improve delivery of our customer values and experience. From front to back end, be it from ticket or room reservations, to dining, loyalty programs, efficiency operation systems, and many others. We need to be able to incorporate technology to sustain the industry for the long term”.

“Hospitality involves many forms of activities, creativity and experiences, so an additional strategy is to build communities and engage with them to better deliver customer experiences and values.” he explained.

“Adapting to the dynamic situation and changes, especially from the pandemic, we need to thrive. As in history, there are losers and winners. It is up to us to decide, which are we? It is time to win!”.

With extensive experiences in the hospitality world since his childhood and his career prior becoming founder of ARTOTEL Group, Erry’s great passion is to travel to natural destinations, eat amazing food, and play golf. This has broadened his horizons and opened opportunities to further develop the group and collaborate with other partners, expanding the network and portfolio.

Erry closed the interview with a quote from Andy Warhol - Making money is art and working is art and good business is the best art.
