ARTOTEL Project Series (APS) presents #ARTOTELforHOPE this year to support forest conservation effort in Kalimantan in collaboration with Nature Conservancy Indonesia (YKAN). Photographer Andang Iskandar and painter Bayu Widodo visited Merbabu Village, Berau, East Kalimantan to see up close how the villagers conserve nature around them. The art pieces exhibited in ARTSPACE ARTOTEL in Jakara, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Bali told the stories of their experience.
#ARTOTELforHOPE 2018 also invites hotel guests and visitors to write down their hopes for forest and conservation in Indonesia on a recycled paper shaped like leaves, which would then be displayed on the Wall of Hope. The "leaves" are collected until 31 December 2018 at all ARTOTEL. Further fund raising efforts include donations from room transactions along with the sales of art postcards and art pieces by the two artists.
