OPPO’s collaboration with 14 Indonesian young, contemporary artists sheds new light on design.

The limited edition OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Limited Edition incorporates works of contemporary art on its body in the form of engravings. Performed on Gorilla Glass 6 which covers the back of the device, the art was first translated into digital form before a special engraving machine continued the engraving process. Thus, OPPO once again proved their commitment in embodying their own DNA, “the Art of Technology”, onto their products.

10 OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Limited Editions were showcased at Art Jakarta 2019 from 30th August to 1st September 2019, headed by artist Agung “Agugn” Prabowo, who was accompanied by household names in Indonesia’s contemporary art including Cinanti Astria Johansjah, Faisal Habibi, Indiegerillas, Kemalezedine, Mella Jaarsma, Radi Arwinda, Uji “Hahan” Handoko, Arkiv Vilmansa, Darbotz, Ronald Apriyan, Marishka Soekarna, Natisa Jones and Eko Nugroho. The 10 limited edition artsy cell phones were already equipped with augmented reality technology, making it possible for exhibition visitors to further seek information regarding the artists and their work on site.

Apart from the engravings, the artists also transferred their artworks onto 13 decorative tapestries and a painting. Each, were then auctioned with proceeds donated to the modernization of the Museum Jakarta and Happy Hearts Foundation which is involved in providing better access of education to children in Eastern Indonesia.
