Art Moments Jakarta 2020 'Bigger, Unique and Exciting'

After a great success in 2019 Art Moments Jakarta will return on bigger scale on 17-19 April 2020 at Sheraton Grand Jakarta Gandaria City Hotel, showcasing 50 local and international galleries in a larger exhibition area and targeting 10,000 visitors. Encompassing the theme 'Yesterday Since Tomorrow' which signifies a deeper meaning of time travel. Art Moments Jakarta is a co-existence of generations, emerging, fine arts, contemporary arts, crafts and all gather in Sheraton Grand Jakarta Gandaria City Hotel as main venue which has direct access to Gandaria City shopping mall which makes it as a large-scale and one of the biggest art fair in Southeast Asia.

Among the overseas participating galleries is Whitestone Gallery of Tokyo, Hong Kong and Taipei will feature the works of Japanese artists, including Yayoi Kusama, Yoshitomo Nara and The Gutai Art Group. Aureo Gallery from Kuala Lumpur will also showcase the results of work of art that is both unique and innovative which stirs the imagination of the soul. Their main artist, Kim Il Tae, a Korean artist who pioneered a distinct method to paint with 24k gold and oil on canvas.

In addition, the event will also exhibit artworks curated by the Singapore-based, Art Agenda S.E.A, an undertaking to art that gives consulting and curatorial services, with expertise in Asian art of the modern and post-war eras from the 1930s to the 1980s.

One of the galleries from Indonesia, Lawangwangi from Bandung will showcase artworks by local talents. Within the spaces of Lawangwangi Art Gallery, ArtSociates will curate abstract art pieces from Indonesian modern art maestro, Gregorius Sidharta and alongside emerging young artists who are actively taking part in contemporary art creations. These include: Mujahidin Nurahman, Erwin Windu Pranata, Gabriel Aries Setiadi, and Rendi Raka Pramoedya.

One of the Indonesian artists, Mochtar Sarman, who will introduce the six series of his latest work titled 'Victory'. Sarman uses the technique of industrial pop-style painting. This series of paintings requires visitors to view through 3D glasses that reflects the creative characteristic of the creator.

Attracting for younger audiences who are into pop culture, urban art and street art, this year Art Moments Jakarta also introduces the new collaboration with Jakarta Sneaker Day. With the presence of Art Moments Jakarta in Jakarta Sneaker Day on 26-29 March 2020 will encourage the younger audiences in appreciating the diverse artworks displayed.

During the exhibition, enticing and engaging programs will be available for collectors, art lovers, film makers and public. The programs will include 'Intimate Moments' for a 1 on 1 discussion with favorite artists, 'Converse Moments' a casual and interactive panel discussion, 'Prized Moments' with ribbon of excellence and 'Maker Moments' workshop.
