A Cooking Competition for the Young and Aspiring

On 27 November 2019, the Indonesian Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries held an under-25s cooking competition celebrating the use of local fish as nutritious and sumptuous ingredients in creating modern and healthy food. The cook-off was held in the newly established fish market at the Modern Fish Market Muara Baru which was partially transformed to accommodate the 79 participants and their cooking stations who arrived from all over the archipelago.

The panel of judges consisted of 7 professional chefs and culinary experts led by celebrity chef, Steby Rafael. Participants were divided into two divisions, Entrees and Snacks with the Entree division being won by Maria Yovita while Annisa Riana came out as the winner for the Snack division.
